Dan Black is not who you would expect to be hosting a Christian podcast. He spent years as a tattoo artist, working in a world far removed from church pews and Sunday mornings. He served in the military. He lived through the kind of seasons that leave marks — not just on the skin. Faith was not something he grew up with or arrived at easily. It was something he found, or more accurately, something that found him, at the end of a long and difficult road.

When Dan started this podcast, he was not interested in faith conversations that make everything sound manageable. He wanted to talk to people who had been through real things — and find out how God showed up in the middle of it. He wanted to ask the questions that polite company usually avoids. And he wanted to create a space where people who have never felt comfortable in a traditional church setting could hear stories that sounded like their own.
